Massimo Moccia is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Engineering at the University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy.

During his study program, he was a Visiting Student with the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain, from 2003 to 2004, and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain, in 2007.

He has co-authored about thirty scientific papers in international journals and books.

Dr. Moccia was awarded a Best Poster award at the 2019 International Congress on Engineered Material Platforms for Novel Wave Phenomena, and an Outstanding Poster Prize at the Optical Fiber Sensors Conference in 2011. In 2006, he was also awarded a European Science Foundation (ESF) Fellowship, within the framework of the Thin Films for Novel Oxide Devices program.
